I began my massage training in 1998 at the San Francisco School of Massage. After moving to Austin, TX, I attended the Texas Healing Arts Institute in 2004 and The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in 2005-2006. Most of my Continuing Massage Education credits were obtained in Austin, 2005-2016.
Since 1998, I have amassed 1000 hours of massage training and Continuing Education, including 3 levels of Reiki Certification, Sports Massage of the Hip, Structural Integration, Hot Stone Therapy, Access Consciousness & Craniosacral Level I, PIR Stretching techniques, Integrative Massage and many more. During the years I spent working at local Day Spas and one Destination Spa, I trained in International therapies such as Abhayanga Massage, Thai Herbal Pack Massage, Body Wraps and Scrubs and Body Brushing.
Nutritional Education: I received my Coaching Education from the
Institute for Integrative Nutrition's Health Coach Training Program.
During my Nutritional Coaching program, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle tips, time management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
As a professional Health Coach, I take Continued Education classes on topics like brain health, nutrition, mindfulness, advanced coaching techniques and preventive health. My education is ongoing and has equipped me with extensive knowledge on the topics of self-care and fulfillment-based living.
"As a long-time massage practitioner and energy healer, I have a great appreciation for all that Lisa brings to her sessions. Truly the Cadillac of massage, she incorporates so many layers of luxury, impeccable attention to detail, structural alignment work and a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to heal on all levels. Her aromatherapy blends are divine, and her quality of touch both grounding and energizing. I've used her both as my preferred massage therapist and as my healthy-cooking teacher, and she is my go-to person to consult when health issues arise. She is a wellspring of knowledge, wisdom and insight." --Brenda Young, Life Coach, Energy Healer, Massage Therapist, MT Instructor
